Format Poll Closed
We actually have a tie for the format. The 2 tied are the following.
1. Like a workshop (work on RKC Program minimum)
4. using a KB and other equipment for GPP (General Physical Preparedness)
I say we spend a hour on workshop and a hour on GPP.
Matt, Renee, Nate and BBOM crew, what are your thoughts?

Format for the upcoming 11/16 meeting
The current poll has a workshop being the choice for this upcoming session. It was tied up until this evening. Based on the CKC Google group, I have received emails to be a big group class. As Matt, Renee and I have discussed via email, we may have to break into groups. From the last member to join, we have BBOM on board. They have offered a place in the winter also.
Many thanks to BBOM, welcome!

A New Poll regarding Pavel Tsatsouline Books
While I am not a RKC and don't know if I will ever be one, I feel his knowledge and books are must reads for all KB practitioner. I answered the poll. I have read them all and recommend them all. I will now rank them from my perspective
1. power to the people - Dead lifting and the concepts of irradiation and hyper-irradiation. Training blindfolded (I close my eyes during swings and snatches)
2. Naked Warrior - for Power Breathing and tension. Also Pistols (which are a work in progress for me)
3. RKC - for the bent press and windmill
4. ETK - The standard. I would have ranked this higher, however I started on Mike Mahler program prior to getting ETK.
5. FRWTL- Deck squats and power breathing
6. RIS - this is almost as good as Tom Kurz
7. SJ - I used this until i started with Z and intu-flow
8. Bullet proof abs - Janda situp. I still suck at them.

Format questions for CKC
I have instituted a poll on the right and asked the same question on our Google group.
What should our format be
1. Like a workshop (work on RKC Program minimum)
2. like a group class (everyone trains together, with technique refinement where needed)
3. just instruction (just learning new exercises)
4. using a KB and other equipment for GPP (General Physical Preparedness)
Please vote.

In the Beginning....there were 5 !
Paul, Todd, Matt, Renee & Greta
It turned out to be a beautiful day! It was great meeting everyone for the first time and comparing stories, websites, blogs, kb's and sharing time in the sunshine! It was truly fun to share my knowledge and skills with other kettlebell enthusiasts. Paul did great with his swings and working on taming the arc on his cleans. I was surprised to learn that it was Greta's first time doing TGU's and her form was spot-on. She is definitely a quick learner. The kids played while we worked. We ended with an awesome swing work-out. We hope to have more people turn out for the next meeting...date yet to be determined. However, with the short notice prior to this initial meeting, we can't complain. We are currently working on setting up indoor dates for meetings throughout the winter months (East & West). Stay tuned!!!

Well the first meeting went well
I met up with Matt and Renee along with Gretta and Paul. There were supposed to be more but it was short notice for meeting. Hopefully next month we will have a better turn out. Overall I think it was a great start.

Bring your KBs if you have them
If we all bring our own KBs, we will have a bigger variety to use and it will allow us to do more stuff. Again this depends on how many enthusiasts show up.
Bring 'em if you got 'em!

Weather questions for Sunday
I have had some questions regarding the weather on Sunday. I watched the weather this morning and it is supposed to be nice and in the mid 60's. Be sure to check out this site Sunday morning, i will post around if this is still on. We are in the process of trying find a location to host us once a month during the snow season. Even though training in the cold will actually speed up your metabolism and help you burn fat.
I will keep you posted.
I will keep you posted.
First Get together - Sunday - Pepper Pike Park 11:00 am
The CKC will be hosting it's first gathering this coming Sunday at Pepper Pike Park.
The park is behind the fire department.
The address is 28000 Shaker Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44124 (Pepper Pike Fire Department), off Shaker Circle. If you used Google maps, and do a satellite view you will see the sand volleyball court. That is our "courage corner"
Park in the back and walk across the little bridge and you will see the park. I will be bringing my son(s), probably just my 6 yr old, since there is a park for them to play while we train. Matt and I deem this as "The Sand Pit".
I will be bring the following KB 20kg, 2-24kg, 2-32kg and 40kg.
Email me and I will provide my cell number if you get lost.
Be ready to enjoy the pain!

Weekend Get Together
Renee, Todd, and any other potential CKC'ers
Sunday works for me. I agree that the Pepper Pike Park at Shaker/Brainard Circle would be a good initial meeting place. Anytime will work for me, especially since the Brown's have a bye week!
Matt
Count Me In...Initial Meeting of the CKC!
This weekend works for me! Tell me when and where so I can pass the word!
This has been a long time coming and I think this is what we need here in Cleveland! I look forward to getting together with other KB enthusiasts to share ideas, tips and workouts. I know we all have a wealth of knowledge to share and this is a great forum to do just that!
Let the CKC rock the North Coast!

Possible group session this weekend or next
Hey CKC'ers,
There is a possibility that we could start having meetings this coming weekend in Pepper Pike. If not this weekend, then the next.
Knowing that we will have members from both West and East, we will try to hold these either in a central location or alternate the sides of town.
Details to follow as soon as I get confirmation for one of our authors here.
Look forward to seeing everyone
Todd
